| 1947 | Founded as T. Dundas Smith & Co. | |
| 1950’s | Name change to Rae Allen & Ring after the new partners, Phil Rae, Jack Allen and Eddie Ring. | |
| 1960’s | New offices established in Coolangatta and Mullumbimby. | |
| 1969 | Ray Watson becomes a partner. | |
| 1970’s | Several junior partners leave, Phil Rae Retires and Coolangatta office moves to Tweed Heads. | |
| 1982 | Peter Fenton joins the practice from Sydney, as partner heading the Tweed Heads Office. | |
| 1989 | Eddie Ring retires. | |
| 1991 | Phil Thomson joins to head up new financial planning division under licence to Advisor Investment Services. | |
| 1995 | Murwillumbah office closes and staff integrate with the Tweed Heads Office. | |
| 1997 | John Robinson acquires equity in the Mullumbimby practice as resident partner. | |
| 2000 | John Robinson acquires remaining equity in the Mullumbimby practice. | |
| 2001 | Jenny Dallinger & David de Closey acquire the equity held by Ray Watson who retires. | |
| 2003 | Financial planning division expands to include finance brokerage. | |
| 2007 | Celebrate our 60th year of trading and relocate the office to Coolangatta. | |
| 2013 | Phil Thompson retires. Jim Furnell takes over the financial planning business. | |
| 2014 | Re-locate the office to 39 Wharf St, Tweed Heads. | |
| 2016 | David & Jenny buy out Peter Fenton’s share of the business. | |
| 2017 | Peter Fenton retires Oculus abolishes the age-old ‘billing on time’ philosophy, opting for upfront quoting – giving customers better value, more certainty, and less ‘surprises’. |
